Continuing the Farmhouse heritage of the Craven Arms the accommodation offers a historic form of shelter as taken by Shepherds protecting their flocks in years past. The huts would be wheeled on to the pastures for the Shepherd to stay in & allow overnight care of the livestock .

The Craven Arms and Cruck Barn is based at Appletreewick, a beautiful dales village in the heart of Wharfedale. Over the past decade, the pub has become known as a perfect example of a traditional Yorkshire pub and draws visitors from all over the world. Stone flag floors and gas lighting greet you, as you warm by the open fire and choose from a selection of real ales and a delicious food menu.
The Cruck Barn, is the first of its kind to be built for 400 years and offers extra space to the pub for dining, weddings and events. It has soaring oak trusswork, carrying traditional local heather thatching. The lime and horsehair plaster finishes the local stonework. A huge log fire coupled with sheep’s wool insulation provides warmth.
The Shepherd Huts, at the rear of the pub elevated in a small wooded area beyond the car park offer a unique opportunity to stay in something special. It’s a wonderful location and is surrounded by some of the best walking, caving, climbing and cycling in the country.
